Consolidation

Consolidating freight refers to the process of combining multiple small shipments on one truck for delivery to final destination.

Containers are unloaded at arrival, and each shipment is claimed by its respective consignee.

Shipments that are consolidated result from the combination of several LTL (less than truckload) deliveries from various suppliers into one full container (multi-stop truckload).

Combining shipments benefits both the shipper and the carrier. For the carrier, consolidation helps reduce shipping costs and ensures a faster delivery of goods. Besides, the shipper with smaller shipments would not pay for a full container.

If you only require a few pallets of freight or smaller shipments packaged and delivered in one container, then consolidation is the best choice.

Benefits of consolidation:

  • Cost-efficient
  • Minimizes risk of damage
  • Enhanced quality control
